Research Field, Activities and Interests
I am working on agribusiness and land governance issues in eastern Africa, namely Madagascar, Mozambique and Kenya, to understand how agribusiness companies’ business models have been implemented and to assess their environmental and socioeconomic impacts. I am also involved in a research project on agricultural technology adoption. The objective is to find out the determinants of improved techniques adoption by rice farmers and the impacts on food security and income. Another area I am interested in is rice marketing systems. I have worked on several farmer, cooperative and trader surveys in Madagascar to understand how rice is marketed across the country.
